Živa Botanica offers small batch herbal products and handmade baskets and woven art. All are made from plants, algae, fungi and lichen that are respectfully gathered from my home among the Salish Sea; home of moss laden forests, island speckled seas, mountain meadows and cascading rivers.
Inspired and guided by the seasonal variability of plants makes each weaving unique, and the herbal products more attuned to seasonal health. Tending, harvesting and processing the plants make this a slow and intentional craft, having knowledge of the plants life cycles and overall ecology is important for the sustainably and health of the ecosystem.
